This has happened to many of us, in varying degrees. You’re getting ready for your night you’re dressed to the nines and picking out the right pair of shoes to go with your dress. Suddenly, you notice that you’ve spilled foundation on your dress. You are used to food and drink stains, but makeup stains – now that’s new! You’re not alone – makeup can leave many types of stains, but there are ways to remove them all. Take a look at our guide on getting makeup out of your clothes, and without any stress, too.

Mascara Stains

Mascara certainly makes your lashes look thick and full, but it does not look great at all when it gets on your clothes! It comprises of several oils that make it viscous (and help it stay on for longer) as well as the colouring dye in it. These ingredients make it difficult to remove the mascara once it spills on clothing. If you’re not at home, you can try and remove mascara stains from your clothes using a good quality eye makeup remover. But if don’t have it handy, just blot the stain with a paper towel and cold water. If the mascara has dried up by the time you treat it, then it is best to get a stain remover Vanish Oxi Action Gold. It is a powerful stain removing system that zaps away stains in under a minute. Simply pre-treat or soak the stained clothing with the powder for the best stain removing action.

Foundation Stains

Foundation is used to make the complexion look brighter and to even out patchy skin. But as attractive as it makes your face look, it is the opposite of attractive when it spills on the carpet or your clothes. Liquid foundation is particularly difficult to remove because it oil-based – this makes it easy for the foundation to seep into the fabric fibres quite quickly. So it is always better to remove as much of the foundation quickly out of the fabric as possible. Start by removing the excess with a spoon. Now blot at the stain with a clean paper towel dampened with some water. Just blot, do not rub or smear. After this, you can use the powerful Vanish Oxi Action Pre-Treat Spray once you have removed the residue. Spray the stain with Vanish Pre-Treat Spray from about 15 cm away. Immediately blot with a soft cloth and repeat if necessary.

Blush Stains

Powder blush imparts a youthful glow to the cheeks. But you won’t need it if it gets on to your clothes, because the stain will make you blush for real! Just take a stiff-bristled brush and remove the excess powder from the garment. You can dab a fresh stain with a paper towel and remove as much of it as possible. For a stain that has set, pour a few drops of Vanish Oxi Action Gel onto the stain and use the rubbing head provided to work the gel into the stain in a gentle, circular motion. Let the stain dry for five minutes and wash. Allow the stain to air dry once you pull it out of the washing machine. Or if you’re in a hurry, just give the stain a quick blast using your hair dryer to dry out the washed garment quickly.

Makeup makes you look your best, but it can be a real pain to get out of your clothing. But you must come to terms with the possibility that makeup does – and will – spill on your clothes at some point of time. You might be a little flummoxed by mascara stains, but give it a blast with Vanish Oxi Action Gold. Meanwhile, oil-based foundation stains on the carpet are not a problem when you treat them with Vanish Oxi Action Pre-Treat Spray. Powder blush stains can now be a thing of the past with Vanish Oxi Action Gel.
